The Sanctuary is a perfect retreat on Little Cayman, a perfect island.

I had the opportunity to spend four days there with friends and cannot overstate how restorative it was. The quiet privacy of our own beach nestled into the untouched beauty of the island made it so easy to melt into a state of total relaxation.

The house itself is comfortable and welcoming, and staying there feels more like house-sitting for your coolest friend than checking into a typical rental. The whole house opens toward the sea - double doors from each of the four bedrooms directly access onto a seaside deck, and the kitchen and living areas upstairs share an upper deck overlooking the beach. Indoor and outdoor lounge areas offer shade, sun, and beach options. Reefs just offshore are ideal for snorkeling and kayaking, and gear for both is included in the house. The host was gracious and incredibly helpful in figuring out travel, reservations, and activities once we arrived.
